About me
Hi !
My name is Nicolas and I’m a ceramicist based in Gatineau, Québec.
In the summer of 2021, what started as an escape from my graduate studies ended up being the start of a new passion.
My ceramic practice may best be described as nomadic : researcher at heart, I’m constantly moving in new directions, never settling, and always (re)searching and following new lines of inquiry.

Aside from ceramic, my doctoral research explores how experienced Breaker’s journeys, formative experiences, and accumulated knowledge have shaped they way they understood, practiced, and taught Breaking across time.
Through these stories, my project seeks to collectively reflect on and imagine the future of Breaking, considering what deserves to be carried forward, what may need to evolve, and what might be passed on to future generations.
You can watch my latest short film titled : Breaking Me Enseñó
Synopsis : In this short documentary film, BBoy Iván reflects on how breaking has profoundly shaped his life, both inside and outside the cypher. Looking back on the past fifteen years, he speaks about what it truly takes to become a breaker, explaining how dedication, responsibility and an unwavering commitment toward his body have gradually become core values that define who he is today. More than a dance, breaking has become for him a way of being, something that has taught him how to dream, live fully, and breathe with intention. His story offers an intimate portrait of breaking as a way of understanding oneself and as a means of exploring one’s limits, strengths, and sense of purpose in life. Above all, Iván reminds us that, amidst the struggles and challenges we face while trying to fulfill our dreams, it is by having faith in ourselves that we can achieve everything our heart and spirit ever hoped for.
« Quant au motif qui m’a poussé, il était fort simple […] c’est la curiosité […] non pas celle qui cherche à s’assimiler ce qu’il convient de connaître, mais celle qui permet de se déprendre de soi-même. »
