About me
Hi !
My name is Nicolas and I’m a ceramicist based in Gatineau, Québec.
In the summer of 2021, what started as an escape from my graduate studies ended up being the start of a new passion.
My ceramic practice may best be described as nomadic : researcher at heart, I’m constantly moving in new directions, never settling, and always (re)searching and following new lines of inquiry.

Aside from ceramic, I’m a full-time graduate student.
During my master, my research project sought to investigate the various mechanisms at play contributing to the (re)production or transformation of (cis)heteronormative, queer-phobic and sexist physical/sporting cultures in physical education teacher education programs.
Currently in the doctoral application process, I’m interested in the place and role of social media in art education.
In an increasingly digital world, arts education finds itself at a crossroad where artists are faced with the need to explore and (re)define themselves in an environment shaped by social media. Therefore, one of the aims of my project is to examine and highlight its implications in art classes in relation to students’ engagement/motivation/interest, as well as for the development of their artistic and digital identities.
